Tim will team with Moneyball director Bennett Miller for the next installment of the live-stream music series American Express Unstaged. The Sept. 16 show, originating from New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom, may take inspiration from an iconic television special.
“We got together in Nashville out at my farm last week,” says McGraw, who also will release his new album Sundown Heaven Town on Sept. 16. “We just got to know each other a bit and drove around the farm in my old Jeep. We started talking about the intimacy of the Elvis comeback special from 1968. We both really like and connected with that concept, visually. I’m a huge fan of his work and I can’t wait to see how this all comes together.”
The Unstaged concert, presented in partnership with Vevo and YouTube, will stream at amexunstaged.com Sept. 16 (9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT).
Miller received an best-director Oscar nomination for his 2005 film Capote. He also won a best-director award at this year’s Cannes Film Festival for his new film, Foxcatcher.
McGraw’s latest single, Meanwhile Back at Mama’s, which features wife Faith Hill, currently sits at No. 3 on USA TODAY’s country airplay chart. His Sundown Heaven Town album will stream on First Play on iTunes Radio a week before its official release.
Last Weekend Shines as Sundown Heaven Town Tour Wraps
Tim wrapped his SUNDOWN HEAVEN TOWN 2014 Tour Saturday night with a packed house in Houston, TX, marking the end of another blazing summer tour with capacity crowds drawing rave reviews from critics throughout the summer.

The final run featured a surprise appearance by Tim’s wife and country superstar Faith Hill as she stunned the crowds in Dallas and Houston by joining him onstage for a performance of “Meanwhile Back At Mama’s” (featuring Faith Hill) which is quickly moving up the Top 5 of the country radio charts.
Additionally, as the tour wrapped this weekend Tim awarded the record 100th mortgage free home to a military veteran and their family as part of his HomeFront program. He partnered with Chase and Operation Homefront to award mortgage-free homes to veterans in need at each tour stop and over the course of three years they have now awarded 100 homes in total.
Tim’s upcoming Big Machine Record’s album, SUNDOWN HEAVEN TOWN, will be available everywhere on Sept. 16. McGraw Returns As Co-Producer with Byron Gallimore On The New Project
Tim revealed more details today about his upcoming Big Machine Record’s album, SUNDOWN HEAVEN TOWN, available everywhere on Sept. 16. With a staggering 35 No. one hits and 54 Top 10 singles to his credit, McGraw presents a new collection of songs that capture a distinctly country and a distinctly McGraw sound. The album was co-produced by McGraw and his longtime collaborator Byron Gallimore and features both a 13 track standard and 18 track deluxe version. The album cover was revealed to fans on Facebook this morning, and is available for pre-order on both iTunes and Amazon MP3 starting tomorrow, July 29.
“This album is very encompassing of everything that I’ve done in my career,” said McGraw. “I think it’s a good microcosm of what my 20 or so years in music have been, in a lot of ways. You can certainly hear parts of my career throughout all of these songs, as well as the future and where my music is headed. To me, the title of the album is all about that time where you stop doing what you have to do, and start doing what you want to do. ”
“I feel like I’ve got a lot of music in me and that’s part of the reason why this album is so soon after the last one and why I wanted to start sharing it with everyone as soon as I could,” continues McGraw. “I’m excited about where music is gonna take me and where I’m gonna take my music.”
To build anticipation of the new album, McGraw launched his sold-out summer tour ahead of the album’s release and began revealing tracks through his “Countdown to Sundown” program. Over the past few months, he has made high profile performances where he introduced new songs to fans for the first time. He has appeared on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon to perform “Shotgun Rider,” on The Voice where he debuted “City Lights,” at NBC’s TODAY where he revealed “Overrated” and on the Academy of Country Music Awards, where the performance of “Meanwhile Back At Mama’s (featuring Faith Hill) spawned so much fan demand that it was immediately released as the next single. The song is currently driving up the Top 10 at country radio.

Tim To Be Featured On Oprah’s Master Class This Sunday
Tim will be featured on “Oprah’s Master Class” this Sun., June 8 at 10pm ET/PT on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network. In the episode, he talks candidly about his childhood growing up in small town Louisiana and shares personal stories about his path to the top of the charts and what he’s learned as a father of three daughters.
Also in the episode, Tim recounts how he sold everything to make the move to Nashville 25 years ago, “I sold everything I had and I sold water skis and shotguns and just everything that I had. I got on a Greyhound bus and got to Nashville at four in the morning. Never looked back,” recalls McGraw. “If I was going to be playing in a club and barely making my rent or if I was going to be playing in front of 100,000 people, I didn’t care. I was going to be playing music.”
McGraw’s newest album SUNDOWN HEAVEN TOWN is due out Sept. 16 on Big Machine Records, and his SUNDOWN HEAVEN TOWN 2014 TOUR continues this weekend with stops in Pittsburgh, PA (6/6); Indianapolis, IN (6/7) and Cleveland, OH (6/8).
